Although the Society for Laboratory Animals of Slovenia (SLAS) was founded in 2001, the activities of the Association started in autumn 2010. The begining in activity of the Association coincides with the adoption of Directive 2010/63 / EU, which governs the scope of work with experimental animals. Since then, the Association (in cooperation with the Ethics Commission of the Republic of Slovenia and the initiative committee of researchers) was actively participated in the drafting of regulations and the introduction of Directive 2010/63 / EU in the Slovenian legislation and started organizing various events.
